Fashion Spy: Sophie Hulme

I first laid eyes on Sophie Hulme (quite literally) in February at London Fashion Week 2012. Intrigued to discover another talented Brit designer forging her way ahead after winning the Elle Talent Launchpad. I wasn’t able to get close enough to tell her what a fan I was, but maybe with hindsight, that would have been a little stalker-like.

Instead, I have been watching her progress over the months from afar, with her label releasing elegant, fuss-free, almost androgynous-style clothing designs, her famous jewellery charms and her stunning bags including her sporty rucksack and tote. And her label is now stocked in numerous A-list stores including Selfridges.

Her designs are sure to be timeless, classic and evolve each season. Take her fabulous Armour Tote which she tweaks as the seasons change. Like a classic Chanel or Louis Vuitton, the design doesn’t drastically change – but rather, it evolves. I am spotting this tote on various fashion industry arms, including a Vogue team member or two.

Hot on my must-have list is Sophie’s Double Zip, Soft Leather Tote in on-trend yellow.
