Gold rush: Day and evening

The clinging stretch material of this gold sequin skirt is exceptionally flattering, and is the latest addition to my wardrobe.

It’s easy to wear both night and day with the right styling. Pair with lighter colours – choose from apricot or pastel shades of pink, neutrals, and mushroom. Or for a sporty-luxe look, add a gray sleeveless top in either jersey or silk. Style tip: do tuck it in to give you shape.

This is the season for Polo, Tennis, and Racing. Head to the spectator stands wearing sparkles of gold to show off a good tan (but none of this orange stuff please). Then party with the best backstage at the after party with a cool clutch and chic snake-skin print sling backs. This style elongates the leg – remember, ankles, not cankles.

Jewellery inspiration: This season is all about chunky costume jewellery with an ethical edge. I’m loving designs by Kyle Hopkins, an American based in London. I met Kyle at London Fashion Week in 2011 where his unique ‘people’ jewellery caught my attention. I tried on, chatted with Kyle, and hope that he is at LFW in September so that I can see more of this one to watch. Kyle works in both gold and silver.

    1. This is a gorgeous clutch, and although I don’t own it, yet, I’ve tried and tested it. Looks good for a day event too x
