Day 3 of London Fashion Week, and I black cab it to the stunning RIBA building in Portland Place for Nicole Farhi‘s show. It’s a clean white-wash of neutrals set against the high ceilings and open space of the room. And everyone who is everyone is at this show – Betty Jackson, Bay Garnett, Lisa Armstrong, Alexandra Schulman, a host of fashion supplement editors…and then, wait for it…Anna Wintour herself.
This is my first ‘real’ in-the-room experience with the US Vogue Editor, come global diplomat whose style is … consistent!
I think my life is now complete! So, on with the show…
Like the vibe, and the audience, Nicole Farhi’s collection for SS13 was Tuscan-cool, effortlessly elegant, and pleat-tastic. The detailing of the mini-pleats in the shirts, bodice of the shirts, and a fabulous contoured cream coat was immaculate in design and delivery. You will see from the photos below that I adored the print of the dress and skirt too. I felt the collection screamed Italian screen goddess Gina Lollobridida who I adore so much, that I designed my prom dress on her style from Come September.
The models for this show wore their hair very in a very sleek half up, half down, poker-straight and elevated with a bee-hive at the crown of the head.
Make-up was effortlessly nude with a glint of sparkle on the highest point of the cheek-bone.
