The best of Temperley’s Return to Elegance SS13

It was a hint of the French Riviera at Alice Temperley’s Return to Elegance SS13 collection at London Fashion Week on day three, which I aptly Tweeted #catwalkSunday.

The bright white light, set against a stark white catwalk acted as sunshine on the the rather Sophia Lauren inspired dresses and tea-dresses, all-in-one trouser suits, swimwear overlaid with unusual net style capes, patterned full skirts teamed with silky shirts…all absolutely beautiful.

I had the absolute delight of meeting and speaking with Alice and a lot of her team backstage. Alice wore one of her black full skirts which was satin and tulle showing a hint of leg and thigh. Utterly chic and sexy. I adored  the attention to detail – sheer panels, beading, elements of lace – all having me and the crowed oohing and aaahing. I visited the new collection in John Lewis earlier in the week and it was wonderful to see so many of Alice’s team wearing pieces from the Somerset collection.

Being a seasoned French Riviera gal, this catwalk was like a re-creation of the  Promenade where the models would glide along with elegance as though they were heading to the Martinez in Cannes. The Grand Connaught Rooms served as the perfect venue offering the ideal blend of opulence and elegance right in front of my eyes. I could see Anna Friel’s eyes and face light up with delight at the collection.  Every detail was included in the finished look from the bee-keeper style couture hats similar to what Audrey Hepburn wore in ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’, delicate lace gloves, and pastel 1950s style sunglasses.

Hair was neat up-do’s which had me fascinated backstage as I watched the hair and make-up team spin their magic. Hair was tightly twisted wrapped around a tube and then set to create tight curls which were then brushed up into neat buns.

My favourite piece was the red silk catsuit with the sheer panels, and the swimsuits. Below a fun and relaxed moment between mum Alice and her little boy Fox. Alice wears one of her full skirts with sheer panels showing a sexy lot of leg.

Below, two of Alice’s team wear items from her recently launched Somerset collection. I am feeling the love with this collection.A gorgeous front row – the very, very tiny Pixi Lott, and Delila in white shirt dress. Poppy Delevigne and Anna Friel also joined in the front row.So, on with the show…

    1. The show was dreamy, and I knew I had a smile of delight on my face as each garment took to the catwalk. Thank you so much for leaving a comment.

    1. This was a gorgeous show! The bright light was supposed to be the sunshine flooding down from a French Riviera scene x
