Hot on the heels of the recent opening of London’s very own Hotel de Paris, Hotel de Paris Saint Tropez will once again open its doors officially in March 2013.
The Hotel has not been without drama with the owner High flying real-estate businessman Claude Dray shot dead at his villa in the Parisian suburbs last October, plus a dramatic law suite between Dray and the Hotel’s former owners. It is certainly a real-life story that could not be a better thrilling script.
A little Saint Tropez birdie tells me that Hotel de Paris is currently occupied with some high-end guests who are testing out every aspect that the Hotel has to offer.
Created in the 1930’s it was one of Saint Tropez’s very first hotels and was a glorious rendezvous for every famous French singer and movie star
The hotel closed in 1992, and it has taken two years of work to get the hotel back on the Saint-Tropez scene. Thanks to its visionary new owners and Sybille de Margerie who designed this chic, modern and spectacular décor along with lighting design from Alain Guilhot.
As you cross the lobby to the atrium you will be hit with an elegant blue light which comes from the suspended glass bottom pool – the sunlight filters through, along with a cheeky glimpse of the swimmers.
The 52 rooms and 38 suites of Hotel de Paris are decorated with a colorful ambiance incorporating wide geometric strips of orange, purple, yellow, blue and brown for the walls, wicker for the head rests, tie-dye effect linen curtains in the suites and shimmering plain or flower print fabrics for the cushions and plaids.
All rooms are fitted with the latest technology, such as Wireless Internet, dimmer switches, large flat TV screens, iPod docks and VOD. The hotel also features relaxation at “Clarins” spa and fitness room along with a decadent Turkish Bath. mmmm, get me some of that luxury right now (as I gaze mournfully at an over cold, overcast London day).
Of course the hotel would not be complete without a Michel in Star. In this case it is Chef Georges Blanc. “LE SUFFREN CAFE BY GEORGES” will be the place to eat serving fresh and seasonal dishes.
